Firstly, the weather in Colorado Springs has over 300 days of sunshine per year! We are considered high desert, which means we don't get very much rain, and it is sunny all year round - so we can do bike tours and rentals year round. That said, we are still right up against the mountains which can make for some occasional unpredictable weather, and makes it a bit more challenging for weather forecasters. As a result, don't worry much about the forecasts if they are more than just a few days out, because they will more than likely be wrong!
The most common issue we have are scattered afternoon thunderstorms in the summer, which usually blow through in pretty quick fashion, and they typically only affect small areas within our region - that is why they call them scattered. In the rare event we get some short term rain, we are prepared to get you through it and have ponchos available for guests. We also actively monitor radar, and if we need to postpone or cancel a tour, we usually don't make that determination until right at the time of the tour, since we try our hardest to respect the multiple plans and activities that visitors have already planned for. If you have any questions about upcoming weather issues for your tour, you can call us 48-72 hours prior to your activity and we'd be happy to discuss it with you.

While we do offer both, we highly recommend our guided tours, as our guests tell us all the time how glad they were that they made that choice. There are a number of not so obvious reasons, but the three biggest ones are that Garden of the Gods is a very busy park with lots of traffic and our guides are a huge help in navigating and keeping you safe. The second is that our top rated guides will make your experience far better - they act as your personal photographer, they explain what you are looking at, give you history and background about the area, are entertaining, and know the best places to go. The third reason is that you can get into areas that are not open to the public, which are awesome! Bottom line : guided tours = more fun!

We encourage reservations because it allows you get the choice of the tour and bikes you want. Because of the high demand on our adventures, we frequently sell out of both activities and specific options for bikes. We have a 48 hour cancelation policy, so there is not much risk in booking in advance and it ensures space for you. If your plans change, you can always call outside of 48 hours, and we are happy to reschedule you, space permitting.

The primary difference is the Garden and Glen Tour is a more relaxed and serene tour with the best and most varied scenery, including a 1900s Tudor Castle and the best chance to see wildlife. This tour is about 8 miles in length.
The Adventure Tour goes at a slightly faster pace, is a little more adventurous because it has a few off road segments, and time permitting, covers more distance - about 12 miles. This tour is very popular for people who want more biking time and a little more interactive experience as there is time allocated to explore and climb on some of the rock formations up close for a spectacular view.
Our Adventure Challenges are walking adventures, and they are a great fit for people who either are not comfortable on bikes, or who just love competing against others to see who is best at solving fun and interesting puzzles and physical challenges. These are also great for families with kids looking for something affordable and that will keep the kids engaged while exploring the Park.

You can relax - all of our tours are designed for recreational riders, so as long as you can maintain good balance and are confident riding a bicycle, you should do fine on any of our tours! This includes the Adventure Tour, which does include some short off-road segments, but they are packed dirt roads and trails. (There are no obstacles such as rocks, roots or anything uneven about the trails - they are super fun to ride and most everyone can do it as long as they can confidently ride).

Electric bikes (otherwise known as ebikes) are very intuitive. If you can ride a regular bike, you can ride an ebike! Everything works exactly the same as a regular bike except one big difference - when you pedal, the bike "assists" you - making pedaling up hills a breeze! When you coast (not pedaling) or braking, the ebike is just like a bike - it behaves exactly the same and there is no power during those times.
